Level 2 – Day 23-24: Practicing Self-Compassion

What’s This About?
Self-compassion means treating yourself with the same kindness you would offer a friend. It’s an important part of overcoming negative thinking because we are often our own worst critics.

Fun Activities:

Activity 1: The next time you catch yourself thinking negatively about yourself, ask, “What would I say to a friend in this situation?” Then, say those kind words to yourself.

Activity 2: Write a letter to yourself expressing understanding and compassion for your struggles. End the letter with words of encouragement and hope.

Why Is This Important?
Self-compassion reduces self-criticism and promotes emotional resilience. It’s a key part of maintaining a positive mindset.

Chris Thomas Notes:
Writing a self-compassion letter felt strange at first, but it helped me be kinder to myself. I realized I’d never talk to a friend the way I sometimes talk to myself. Used it when thinking I can’t catch a break.
